MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G Overclocking

To overclock the GTX 1080 Gaming X, we of course turned to the latest version of MSI's trusty Afterburner software. With a 121 percent power limit, 92°C temperature limit and maximum voltage applied, we managed to add a further 100MHz to the core, taking it to 1,808MHz (1,947MHz boost), which saw us hitting around 2,050MHz under actual load. This engine clock is a 6 percent increase on what MSI offers, or 12.5 percent over reference.

The GDDR5X memory was happy up until 10.7GHz effective, which is again a 6 percent increase on the 10.1GHz offered by MSI's OC Mode.
